Christmas at the races

We went to the races Friday afternoon, it was lots of fun, I really liked all the cheering when the Hess raced.  We even got to see a band play.

We had a soccer match against Wilrose yesterday.  It was heaps of fun, I even stopped a goal!

Basketball game

Yesterday we went to the QEYC for a game of basketball. It was lots of fun. Wilrose did a pretty awesome Haka to start the game then I played on court and helped ref.

Tuesday outings

Tuesdays are such a fun day. I have guys group, where I went fishing and Eeling. Still waiting to catch the big one! Then I go on sports outing where we are practising our basketball skills for a game against Wilrose. I like hanging out with my friend Pete. We have a great time!

I was having a real fun time in my dance and movement session listening to some cool music and learning some sweet dance moves. 

PIRATES!

Greetings all ye land lubbers! I was a pirate today as part of our guys group study on warriors through history. I spend my time as a pirate today making pirate hats, cannon balls and swords out of newspaper. Me and me hearties sailed it soggy ground and had a roaring game of "cannon ball attack"         We then battened down the hatches and prepared for an epic battle of "capture the flag" YAR!

Cooking

Today we made hash browns in cooking, it was good fun.

Coil pots !

I have been working hard in the pottery to make coil pots,we roll the clay and build up the coils.It has been fun helping the pottery team.....look out for our pots in The NextDoor Gallery !!!

Photo taking

I have been having a fun with my pal Pete in computers, we have been taking pictures of each other and ourselves using the Photobooth APP on the IPads. 

I think they have turned out really neat. 

It's cooking time

This year I have trying cooking. I have learnt how to boil, stew, glaze, and poach food items. This week we made pasta salad, it is cheap and easy to make.

Community Garden

I have been going to the community garden at Merivale. We have our our patch of garden that we are planting vegetables and flowers in.

men's BBQ at Wilrose

All the men from the Greerton centre went down to the Wilrose centre and we had a 'meet and greet' BBQ. It was fun to see all the guys, and the BBQ was yummy too-thank Mal for cooking!

Yatton Park

I had an outing to  Yatton Park. I loved being out in the sun and fresh air. Staff sung to me, butterflies flew over me and even a doggie came to say hi.

Rose Garden

I had an outing to the Rose Gardens in town. There were many nice flowers there, we had a great time. 

Eeling at the reserve

We went to the reserve to try our luck at Eeling.  We used flax and plaited it together and put bait in it. The eels were hiding that day!

Cultural Studies

In cultural studies we have been studying China and we have made our very own terracotta army!

Just the blokes

In guys group we having been studying wetlands, and the animals that live in the streams.  We caught fish and then re released them back into their home.

Renovating Time

In renovating we are sanding back crates, painting them and then nailing 4 crates together to make a cool coffee table.

Four!!!

In sports group we are training very hard for our golf comp that we are having between Greerton and Te Puke. When we yell out FOUR it means we need to duck and cover as someone else has hit a ball and its heading our way.

Van washing

This year one of the new sessions that I am doing is van washing. I like holding the hose and helping wash all the bubbles off.
