Christmas time

We've been celebrating Christmas for our last week at the centre. We got to choose a secret Santa present! I chose some yummy macadamia shortbread biscuits! I enjoyed celebrating with my friends.

Sensory

I like to get out of my chair in sensory and roll around on the rug. We had Frank Sinatra playing on the stereo as well as bird songs and piano! A great time to relax 

Community outings

I enjoy getting out into the community. We went to the supermarket to get surprise birthday gift for someone at the centre. 

Sensory board

I felt all the different textures on this board. I'm not sure which one was my favourite. I liked the wool and the squishy sponge though and the noise the shiny one made! 

Christmas

It's December! Woohoo! Santa is on his way! I'm looking for a job as his helper! 

Dominoes

I had so much fun knocking down the dominoes and seeing them all fall over during brain games this week!

Greerton pools

I look forward to going swimming each week. I'm getting really good at splashing everyone, it makes me laugh. I've been practicing my kicking.

Keyboard time

I like to jam out on the keyboard as loud as I can!

First swim of summer

I really enjoyed getting back into the pool this week. It was the perfect temperature so splash around in. This was me getting excited about gettin in the pool!

Music

I love to get out of my chair and move around to some music. We have some cool music DVDs I'm working my way through. 

Creative kitchen

We used vinegar and food colouring to dye this pasta different colours. We can use it to make some cool jewellery and decorations now! 

The beat

Check me out rocking to the beat on the keyboard. I love entertaining people with my mean piano skills.

Talent show

I really enjoyed watching all the different talent at our special Talent quest. I joined in singing our music groups song ' thunder and lightening' . It was funny we were all out of tune.

Ball

I love my musical ball that I bring to the centre with me. Everyone knows the tunes that it plays and some people sing along - which makes me laugh.

Birthday boy

It was my birthday on Sunday so all my friends here at Wilrose sang a belated Happy birthday to me on Monday this week.  

Friends

I've enjoyed coming to the centre this week. I love hanging out with my friends, they make me laugh.

Learning through discovery

I got to make my own kite this week. It has my name on it and I chose an orange ribbon on my one.

Music is great I really enjoy listening to my friends sing and play instruments I even do a bit of tapping and rocking out to the sounds

I enjoyed making music on the keyboard today whilst my friend listened to some music on the iPad. What a musical bunch we are!

Cancer society

I'm supporting everyone making yellow bows for the cancer society appeal next month.

Blanket

The power was off this morning to get our new heaters fitted. So I borrowed the nice blanket that the girls group had made to warm me up!

Keyboard

Nigel had so much fun playing the keyboard with his friend Jayme. 

Sensory

I really enjoyed sensory this week. Wendy was keeping me entertained by swinging the ribbon around, it made me laugh a lot.

Singing

Today in music I had a sing along with my friend Moeata. She made laugh a lot!

Fluffy Rug

I just love getting out of my chair and feeling this fluffy rug. I make my musical ball play sounds and it makes me laugh.

The Strand

I got to go to The Strand and enjoy the sunshine whilst having a look around.
